One receptionist. Five jobs it never forgets.
Picks up in your business's name, on your terms.
Choose when it answers: every call, only the calls nobody picks up, only after hours, or both. Your phone can ring first for anywhere from 5 to 60 seconds, so your team still gets the calls they can take.
- Greets callers as your business and says it is a virtual assistant
- Tells every caller the call may be recorded
- Answers from your website chat's knowledge base and your own notes
- Takes a message with a read-back of the callback number
- Thanks for calling Northside Plumbing. I'm their virtual assistant, and this call may be recorded.
- Do you service Worthington?
- Yes, Worthington is in the service area. Would you like to book a visit?
Real open times, booked while the caller is on the line.
It checks your booking calendar for open times, offers a couple that fit, and books the one the caller picks. It only tells the caller they are booked once the calendar has accepted it.
- Uses the appointment types and hours you already set
- Calendar sync keeps your schedule in one place
- Confirms the time back to the caller before ending the call
- The booking shows up in your email summary
- Can I come in Thursday?
- Checking the calendar for open times
- Thursday has 10:00 or 2:30 open. Which would you like?
- Booked: Thu 2:30 pm
A person when the caller needs one.
During your business hours, when a caller asks for a person, it tells them it is connecting them and transfers the call to the right person: your front desk, your cell, or a named number like Sales or Service. Most AI receptionists just transfer the call. With call screening on, this one asks you first.
- Named numbers for each kind of call, with round robin across a team
- Optional call screening checks with the person before connecting
- It explains the handoff instead of going silent
- Outside your hours it takes a message or books a time instead
- The transfer is noted in the call summary
- Can I just talk to someone in the office?
- Of course. I'll connect you to the team now. One moment.
- Transferred to the office line
Nights, weekends and holidays, covered.
Set your business hours once, in your own time zone. After closing it tells callers the team is away, then offers to book them a time or takes a message for the morning, instead of sending them to voicemail.
- Closed days count as after hours automatically
- Callers leave with a booked time or a promised callback
- Anything that sounds like an emergency is told to call 911
- Robocalls and sales pitches are politely ended
- The office is closed for the night, but I can book you a time tomorrow or take a message.
- A message is fine. Ask them to call me after nine.
- Message saved and emailed
Every call, written down and in your inbox.
Each call it answers is saved with the caller, how long it lasted, what happened, a short summary and the full transcript. You get an email about every one, so a message never sits unheard. Text alerts to your phone are coming soon.
- A summary you can read in ten seconds
- The full transcript when you want the detail
- Bookings, messages and transfers marked as the outcome
- Calls sit next to your form fills and chats in the Leads Inbox
- Emailed to you: Dana Reyes, leaking water heater
- Summary: called after hours, booked for Wed 8 a.m. Transcript attached to the call.
A receptionist that never takes a day off.
Speaks for your brand
You write the greeting and the notes it answers from, so it uses your names for services and your way of describing them.
Never makes things up
It does not invent prices, availability or promises, and gives no medical, legal or financial advice. When it does not know, it offers to take a message.
Protects your minutes
It answers up to 50 calls a day on Starter, 100 on Pro and 200 on Growth, and 10 from any one number an hour. Past that, calls ring your phone as normal.
You set the limits
You set the limits in your dashboard: a maximum call length of 3, 5, 10 or 15 minutes (10 is the recommended default), and a daily call limit at or below your plan's.
Keeps your number
It comes with its own local number. Keep the one customers know by forwarding the calls you do not answer to it.
Free test calls
Call from your own phone to hear it before any customer does. Test calls are not billed.
Ignores the noise
Robocalls are politely ended, and calls under 15 seconds, like hang-ups and wrong numbers, are not billed.
Set up in an afternoon. Answering by tonight.
- 1
Pick a plan
Choose Starter, Pro or Growth. Every plan comes with a local phone number. Already on WorkspaceCMS? Add it from Add-ons in your dashboard.
- 2
Tell it about your business
Write a greeting and anything callers ask about. It already knows your website chat's answers, so it says the same things your site does.
- 3
Choose when it answers
Every call, only calls nobody picks up, only after hours, or both. Set your business hours and how long your phone rings first.
- 4
Make a test call, then switch it on
Call from your own phone to hear it before any customer does. Test calls are free. When it sounds right, switch on Answer calls.
You decide when it answers, and what it says.
Let your phone ring first and have the receptionist catch only what you miss, cover nights and weekends, or answer every call. Your business hours are read in your own time zone.
Write the greeting, the areas you serve, the prices you are happy to quote, and anything it should never promise. Changes take effect as soon as you save.
- When nobody picks up, and after hours
- After hours only
- Only when nobody picks up
- Answer every call
Wake up to booked jobs, not voicemails.
Each call it answers shows up with the caller, how long it lasted, what happened, a summary and the full transcript. You get an email about every one, and text alerts to your phone are coming soon.
Bookings land on the same calendar as your online booking, and calls sit next to your form fills and chats in the Leads Inbox.

Every plan includes
- A local phone number
- After-hours answering
- Appointment booking with calendar sync
- Transfers to a person
- An emailed summary and transcript of every call
- Text alerts to your mobile after every call (coming soon)
On the Essentials website plan it cannot book appointments; booking by phone needs Growth or above.
- Calls under 15 seconds are not billed
- Switch plans any time, prorated
- Buy it on its own. No website plan needed
Extra charges outside the plan. A phone number outside the US (Mexico, Spain or Latin America) is $10 a month on top of your plan and takes calls only; it cannot send texts. It takes the place of the included US number rather than adding a second one, and ordering it needs your business documents. Your US local number is included in every plan with no extra fee. Caller texting, coming soon, is an optional add-on at $79 once plus $10 a month, which covers registering your business with the phone carriers and their monthly fee.
Buy it on its own, or add it to your WorkspaceCMS website plan. On Essentials it answers, takes messages and transfers calls but cannot book. Growth is $110/mo more than Essentials and adds online booking (so the AI Receptionist and AI chat can book appointments), Google reviews on your site, Sage, Google Analytics and Search Console connections, and more pages designed for you. What does the AI Receptionist cost?
There are three plans: Starter $49/mo with 100 minutes, then $0.35 a minute; Pro $99/mo with 250 minutes, then $0.29 a minute; Growth $199/mo with 600 minutes, then $0.25 a minute. Every plan includes a local phone number and every feature. Calls under 15 seconds are not billed, and you can switch plans any time, prorated.
Do I need a WorkspaceCMS website to use it?
No. You can buy the AI Receptionist on its own, with no website plan. If you already have a WorkspaceCMS site, the account owner adds it from Add-ons in the dashboard, and it shares your booking calendar and chat knowledge base.
Can it book appointments on the Essentials plan?
Not on Essentials. There it answers questions, takes messages, transfers calls and emails you a summary of every call. Booking by phone uses your WorkspaceCMS booking calendar, which comes with Growth and above.
Can it text me instead of only emailing?
Coming soon. Once text alerts launch, turn them on in the receptionist settings, enter your mobile and type back the code we text you. Each call it answers then arrives as a short text with the caller, what happened and a link to the full summary, alongside the email. It is free on every plan, and replying STOP turns it off.
Do callers know they are talking to AI?
Yes. It always says it is a virtual assistant and that the call may be recorded. If you write your own greeting without that, it adds the line for you.
Can I keep my existing business number?
Yes. The receptionist answers on the local number that comes with it. To keep your existing number, set your phone to forward unanswered calls to it, and callers keep dialing the number they already know.
What happens after hours?
Set your business hours and choose an answer mode that covers after hours. At night and on weekends it tells callers the team is away, then offers to book them a time on your calendar or takes a message for the morning.
Will it make things up?
It is told to answer only from your business information and the notes you give it. It does not invent prices, availability or promises, does not give medical, legal or financial advice, and offers to take a message when it does not know. If a caller describes an emergency, it tells them to hang up and call 911.
Can it answer more than one call at the same time?
Yes. Every call gets its own receptionist, so a second caller is answered right away, with no busy signal or voicemail. There is no limit on simultaneous calls on any plan. To stop spam from using your minutes, it answers up to 50 calls a day on Starter, 100 on Pro and 200 on Growth. If a limit is reached, calls simply ring your phone as usual.
Can a spam wave run up my bill?
No. It answers up to 50 calls a day on Starter, 100 on Pro and 200 on Growth, and 10 from any one number an hour. Past that, calls ring your phone as normal. Robocalls it does answer, it politely ends, and calls under 15 seconds are not billed.
Do I need Call Tracking too?
No. The AI Receptionist comes with its own number. If you already use Call Tracking, the two work together, and receptionist calls show in the same call list.
How do I cancel?
The account owner cancels from the dashboard. It keeps answering until the end of the period you have already paid for.
